Over the past decade, the continent has witnessed a significant surge in terrorist activities, resulting in immense human suffering, economic devastation, and political instability.

According to the GTI, Somalia experienced 1,532 terrorist attacks in 2021, resulting in 3,641 deaths. Compared to a decade ago, there has been a 43% increase in terrorist incidents and a 55% rise in fatalities.
